AZAPO ADVISES ITS PRESIDENT TO RESIGN FROM GOVERNMENT
23/09/2008

AZAPO has been following closely the unfolding developments around the decision by the NEC of the ruling party to recall the President of the country, Mr. Thabo Mbeki.

It is the view of AZAPO that this action leaves our country in a state of uncertainty and confusion thereby leading to a crisis in government.

AZAPO is affected by this decision since its President Cde. Mosibudi Mangena is serving in government as Minister of Science and Technology.

After careful consideration of the position of AZAPO President in the Cabinet, the Standing Committee has advised its President to resign with immediate effect.

Under these circumstances it was decided that AZAPO should stay out of the internal affairs of the ruling party.
